Everyone was great, super friendly, made it a wonderful experience. Until came time to pay. Why is it that everyone constantly tries to screw you into paying more?! I don't appreciate a lackluster shellac pedicure to cost me over $40. They decided to give me the highest costing pedi after I specifically said I only wanted the basic. Got the bare basic treatment, with high $$ cost. Not cool. Not to mention the next day it began chipping due to her not removing the excess from on my skin. Steer clear.
I want to write on behalf of the owners, as they are not apt to utilizing social media tools to promote their business. Although I am only one person and one voice cannot make a place look good or make much of a difference, I still want to voice truly what this business is about. The people here love what we do and it is our priority to satisfy our customers. I spend time on every customer that I have and I always try to do my best to make customers happy. Yes, I agree that the management and owners are at fault sometimes but running a business cannot be perfect. It is not a perfect world and we cannot make 100% of our customers happy. What we can guarantee is that we try our best to give every customer good service. And for everyone who read this whole post, I just want to thank you for your time for reading this.
Unfortunately my first experience didn't even get to be a true experience. I went in over my lunch hour on a Monday afternoon at 1:40pm. I was told 10 minutes as I waited in the reception entry. Started to look around concerned that I was forgotten about, 10 minutes later. The lady came over took me to a pedicure chair and turned the water on and told me that they would be right with me. The gentleman then came over shut the water off and turned the jets on and walked away. 25 minutes later I looked at my watch and needed to be back to work in 15 minutes still without any service. I got up, dried my feet off and told them I was sorry that I couldn't wait any longer that I was told 10 minutes, and by that time I had waited at least 35 minutes. The lady said, "I'll be right with you," and I politely said, "No, I don't time. I need to be back at work in 15 minutes and don't have time to wait any longer." On my way out I realized that there were only 2 employees doing services on 4 other people at the same time. This not only is a concern of service for others, but may very well be a sanitary issue working on multiple people back and forth at the same time. I don't have expectations that are hard to meet, but I will NOT be returning after this experience.
I always get my shellac done here and they always last 3 weeks plus! Not to mention, I work as a waitress, yet they still last. And, I like getting my waxing needs for my eyebrows done here as well. Love this place!
Most people call me Vickie at this salon but I wanted to write a review from a worker's perspective instead of a client. I currently have two bachelor's degrees in Business and in Spanish. Along with that, I am currently pursuing my MBA in graduate school. I work here as my side job because doing nails is one of my passions and my skill set as a manicurist exceeds most people in the region therefore I could work at any nail salon that I want but I stay here because I love my customers and I love working with the people here (I posted pictures below of my work). When I make my clients happy, it makes me happy and that is how a business flourishes. This salon has been here since 2005 and so we have been in business for 12 years in the town of Kendallville. If we were not a good business entity, we would have closed down years ago.
I will never go to any other place but here. They are the best place in the 260 area to get your nails done. Plus the owners are the nicest people I've ever met.
